Howard Forsberg is considered a representational painter in oil know for historical scenes and landscapes of the Western United States. Howard studied at the Layton School of Art and Frederic Mizen Art School, and then began his career as an apprentice in a Chicago art Studio. By 1946, his signature was appearing on major illustrations for Life, Readers Digest, Colliers, Budweiser, Coca Cola, and others. He has also illustrated cartoon books for companies such as Walt Disney. The past two decades have primarily been devoted to painting scenes reminiscent of the frontier and Indian life of the Old West and contemporary Southwestern landscapes.
